Usually (and we've only had one move, so I'm speaking from very limited experience + tons of advice from other mil spouses), you move with no idea of where you will live, assume you'll spend at least 10 days in a hotel (+ an extra month with a couple you just met if you're us with this last move. ha!), and then once you get a place you wait for your House Hold Goods to arrive. So, you take shower curtains, air mattress with bedding, and basically anything you can think of that you will need to live in a hotel and an empty house for two to three or even four weeks.
Well, with THIS move, it's SO much different! We will be in a hotel here in SC for 4 days, and the drive to Alabama is only 8 hours (stopping half way in ATL for a night). Easy peasy..... When we get there we will have a house within a week, if not the day we get there, and since our HHG are so close it won't take a week to get them....it MAY take an extra day.
Anyway.....I'll feel so much better once our stuff is gone and we're able to clean this house an relax for a day or two before we get on the road.
More to come!!
