What's new with Annabelle this month?
Well, she's growing rather quickly, that's for sure!
At her 4 month well baby check up she measured at 25 1/2 inches and 16.12lbs, and her head is 16 inches now. That's a growing girl!
This month she has really been in to chewing things. Her hands, our hands, her shirt, our shirt, or basically anything she can get in there. If there is something in her hand it goes right to her mouth. She gets frustrated if the object (toy/teething ring/rattle) does taste/feel the way she wants it to in her mouth, or it doesn't quite fit, and she'll start to fuss.
She's really focusing on things and grabbing onto them.
She also lifts her feet up, while she's laying down, and grabs onto them.
She scooches around on her back (not to get anywhere, just because she's discovered that, if she plants her feet on the floor, she can push herself around a little), on her tummy she tries to tuck her knees up under her...she hasn't quite got the arm coordination to be even close to crawling, but she's definitely moving around a lot more! No rolling over anymore...she's just too interested in eating those hands!
She laughed, we think, a couple times, but it sounds more like a "AAAHG" with a huge smile on her face. She's trying so hard....maybe that's just her laugh? haha
She's generally happy to just sit and smile back at me and talk. What a social little girl :) But I think she has a pretty demanding personality, and she definitely loves attention...she's not too fond of entertaining herself.
She started screeching this month. It's a very "special" sound. She screeches when she get's to talking, when she's bored, or if she is about to get upset. Her face turns read and she sticks her tongue out a little and just lets it rip! It's so loud and throaty that she often coughs afterwards...but she thinks it's funny and does it again. AT first I was convinced there was something wrong, but now I'm sure it's just a new sound she can make.
Her sleeping schedule is a little wacko. On a good day (and those days come and go) she'll wake up around 7 or 8, take an hour long morning nap around 10 or 11, an hour long nap around 1 or 2 and one more at around 5 or 6. Then go to bed at 8:30, wake up for a feeding at 10, and back to sleep for a 3-4 hours. The whole "sleeping through the night" (5-6 hours) thing has disappeared as she's needing to eat a lot more. So I'm generally pretty tired. Oh well....
We put her in her Jumper this month and she loves it! She bounces and smiles for an hour a day, at least.
She is sitting up, with my assistance, pretty well, and she loves to be sitting or standing...being on her back is no longer acceptable for very many minutes at a time.
I took her on her first plane ride, for her first time in Oregon to meet, for the first time, her uncles, great grandparents and practically everyone in Oregon! It was great :)
