Box hair color

Well, my hair has been super dark for so long, so tonight I decided to get a couple boxes of slightly lighter color to give it a change. Bad idea. First of all, when I rinsed it out it was PURPLE. Like, I was expecting it to black. But, then as I dried it I noticed that the top two inches are light reddish brown and the rest is the same dark it was before! lol WTH!? I really need to just get into the salon! Oh well, guess I'll be wearing my hair up for the rest of the week.
